Viewers Demand "More Televised Poker"

Citing a shortage of channels that carry televised poker, a lack of shows devoted solely to poker, and too many basketball highlights, television lovers across the nation are pleading with stations to show more poker.

Poker, or as it is known in some circles "hold-em", became popular in early 2005 after a fifty year long hiatus where it could only be found in Las Vegas, NV. Today, many people play poker with friends for money--known as "gambling"--or simply for amusement and as a distraction. However, the severe lack of poker-dedicated programming on television networks has many poker celebrities fearing that their lifestyle and culture will, once again, fall beneath the limelight. "Currently, there are only nineteen of my english-language poker advertisements running on thirty of fourty-four basic-cable package channels at five and a half minute intervals during poker-advertisement devoted airtime, which accounts for approximately 75% of all advertisement-devoted time", stated poker star, Daniel Negreanu, from his seven storey, rooftop swimming pool, mansion in Toronto, Canada. "Our fear is that poker will not remain wildly popular and I will have to move. Can we edit that out?"

Network executives have been slow to react to the need for more poker-related programming. Even TSN, a 'sports-only' channel has only devoted 40% of its time to this wholly amusing and extremely popular sport.

Sam Shelford, area resident explains: "While PokerStarsTV, Poker 24/7, Poker After Dark, Poker 2008:Poker Now!, and Poker on Channel 3, are all great programs, there is a lack of televised poker, especially during the hours of 11:30AM and 12:30Pm on Wednesdays, where I can only watch Poker Highlights: The Poker Highlight Show."

The Canadian National Broadcast Standards Council was unavailable for comment at press time.

...and all the people who gave us these times. And to the government I stick my middle finger up with regards to the criminal justice bill,

...for all the heros I met along the way.
